Globalization and Poverty Muhammad Yunus, awarded the Nobel Peace in 2006, is the founder of Grameen Bank, a banking practice that Microcredit no guarantee that has spread to 57 countries. The Grameen Bank helps every day millions of people to successfully fight against poverty.
The following is an excerpt from the first chapter of his latest book, A World Without Poverty , in which he expresses some considerations on globalization. Commenting on these words in the coming days.
" am a convinced supporter of globalization , because it promotes the expansion of the free market, regardless of frontiers with the development of internazonale trade and free movement of capital, and encourages governments to attract multinationals in their own country offering their facilities for business development, incentives and tax advantages and regulatory activity. As the general economic setting, globalization can on paper give the poor a greater amount of benefits a qualsiasi altra strategia . Però, abbandonata a se stessa, in assenza di principi guida e d controlli, può anche essere devastante.

Il libero mercato, senza vincoli di sorta, così come è oggi concepito, non è pensato per affrontare i problemi sociali, anzi, può portare ad aggravare povertà, inquinamento e disuguaglianze e a diffondere malattie, corruzione e criminalità."
